Less than two years after the launch of Dawn of DC, a new status quo was established in the DC Universe following Amanda Waller’s failed coup in Absolute Power, launching DC’s latest publishing initiative, DC All In!
And everyone really went all in. Without a doubt, this is DC’s most successful relaunch since Rebirth nearly ten years ago, the most new-reader welcoming and the most engaging for longtime fans.
Led by writers Joshua Williamson and Scott Snyder, it began in October 2024 with the DC All In Special (2024) #1, which introduced the new status quo for readers. A new Justice League was formed, featuring the largest roster ever, while the Absolute Universe, a parallel reality shaped by Darkseid that redefines familiar characters and power structures across the DC multiverse, was created.
The first act of DC All In has recently concluded with the end of the first line-wide crossover, DC K.O.. A perfect time to look back and start to really go all in on the DC Universe with our DC All In trade paperback guide.
DC All In: The Starter Menu
This is not a precise All In Chronological order, as we prefer to limit the jumps between the different family titles. We believe this offers a better reading experience, while still trying to offer an overall chronology. We try to balance the connections between titles without disrupting the flow of the stories. This article doesn’t generally list the out-of-main-continuity stories (except those in some specific trades), such as Black Label.
Obviously, this reading guide is a work in progress! Corrections and feedback are very much welcome!

DC All In: Our Favorite Comics
We’re now a year and a half into DC All In, which has delivered one of the most solid lineups since the Rebirth era. Here are our favorite titles from this period so far. The focus is clearly on the Batfamily, and although we still have a lot more to explore, we’ve read other titles that didn’t excite us as much. We hope to expand this section with more (non-Bat) titles soon!
- Batman: Dark Patterns – From writer Dan Watters and artist Hayden Sherman comes this 12-issue maxi series is a carefully crafted Dark Knight tale in which Batman has only been active in the streets of Gotham for three years (see the review).
- Nightwing by Dan Watters and Dexter Soy (#119-135) – Dick goes All In in Blüdhaven when rival gangs start fighting for the future of crime before supernatural elements are added to the mix. Dan Watters’s darker but still hopeful take on Dick Grayson has delivered a solid read during the first act of DC All In.
- Absolute Universe – Created by Darkseid, the Alpha-World is populated by reimagined and modernized versions of DC Comics’s heroes! It’s an all-new continuity and is separated from the DCU. Each series has its own style, depending on everyone’s affinity. Absolute Wonder Woman is my favorite take in this universe, while Martian Manhunter is a great wild card.
- Batman by Matt Fraction – The past years have been rough for Batman, but things are starting to look up for the Dark Knight after this new relaunch from Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez that brings a new energy to Gotham and the adventures of the Caped Crusader.

DC All In Reading Order

- Batman / Superman: World’s Finest (#31-) – Mark Waid continues to rewrite Batman and Superman’s team-up for the new continuity, now with artist Adrián Gutiérrez. The series started at the end of the Infinite Frontier era and is ongoing. Vol. 7 – Total Eclipso and Vol. 8 – 20,000 Leagues have been released during the DC All In era.
- Superman Treasury 2025: Hero for All (2025) #1 – A one-shot celebratory issue from Dan Jurgens and Bruno Redondo released in an oversized format, set between the end of Rebirth and the beginning of Bendis’ run on Superman
Also, Superman: Action Comics – Superstars Vol. 2 (Action Comics #1082-1086) is part of the “Superman Superstars” year-long Initiative that featured a rotating array of writers and artists teaming up for mini-arcs. The two stories collected here are set before Absolute Power (with the second taking place early in Superman’s career). The trade has been placed in the Dawn of DC Era.

Going Absolute
With his negative energy, Darkseid has shaped a new world, one “driven by challenge, by turmoil… A world where heroes are born facing greater odds.” He shaped Alpha-World or the Absolute Universe.
At this moment, the Absolute continuity is completely independent of the main DC Universe timeline. This is a new-friendly reader universe that introduces a reimagined and modernized version of DC Heroes. To follow this universe, check out our DC Absolute Universe Reading Order.
