Teen Titans Go! Comics Reading Order

The first time Teen Titans Go! was used as a title on a DC Comics property was with the comic book spin-off of the 2003 Cartoon Network Teen Titans animated series created by Glen Murakami. The show went on for 5 seasons, officially ending in 2006 with a movie.

A very popular show in its time, Teen Titans eventually spun off another animated TV show on Cartoon Network, this one titled Teen Titans Go!, and was developed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic. Still ongoing, it was launched in 2013 following the popularity of DC Nation’s New Teen Titans shorts. The series is only loosely connected to the original show, featuring occasional references and cameos but adopting a far more comedic and parodic tone.

Primarily aimed at a younger audience, Teen Titans Go! quickly became a cultural phenomenon, noted for its self-aware humour, fast-paced gags, and frequent pop culture references. Like its predecessor, this new series has also received its own comic book spin-off, expanding the franchise into print while maintaining the humour-driven style and broad appeal of the show.

Teen Titans Go! Reading Order

The Teen Titans Go! 2004 comic series (Volume 1)

Teen Titans Go! was a comic book series published by DC Comics from 2004 to 2008, running for 55 issues. Written by J. Torres with art by Todd Nauck and Larry Stucker, the series followed the same core team as the animated show—Robin, Raven, Starfire, Beast Boy, and Cyborg—while also featuring appearances from other DC Comics characters.

Most issues presented self-contained stories that complemented the tone of the television series without contradicting its continuity. Due to different character licensing rights between the comic and the show, the series was able to include characters such as Wonder Girl, who did not appear in the television adaptation. In addition to expanding on events from the show, the comic often referenced specific episodes, providing further depth to the animated series’ world.

You can find all of the 55 issues in digital format. The first 32 issues were also collected in 6 trade paperbacks:

The comic books mirror the tone and humor of the television adaptation, presenting self-contained stories featuring the same characters and a matching visual style. Running for 75 digital-first issues later collected in print, this volume maintained the lighthearted, gag-oriented spirit of the animated show rather than tying into the broader DC Comics continuity.

The 75 digital-first chapters (available here) were reprinted across 36 print issues, which were later collected in 6 trade paperbacks.
