Rose Wilson Reading Order (Ravager)

You can’t choose your family. As the illegitimate daughter of Deathstroke and Lillian Worth, a Hmong woman Slade encountered in Cambodia, Rose Wilson knows this all too well. 

Created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Art Nichols, Rose Wilson first appeared in a 1992 issue of Deathstroke the Terminator #15. Without surprise, her life took quite a turn with the arrival of Deathstroke, launching her on a long journey of discovery and autonomy. 

Over the years, Rose has been a Teen Titan, a government agent and a mercenary for hire. Above all, however, she is the daughter of Slade Wilson, a man who is impossible to please, and who has a talent for mistreating and manipulating his children that makes him one of the worst fathers in the DC Universe.

Rose Wilson Comics: A Ravager Reading Order

Pre-Flaspoint: The Early Years of Rose Wilson (1991-2011)

Rose Wilson first appeared in Deathstroke the Terminator #15, where she was introduced as the daughter of Lilian Worth, also known as Sweet Lili. Upon meeting her, Wintergreen suspected that she was Deathstroke’s daughter due to her white hair. This subject would only resurface years later when Rose became the target of Ravager. Although the man doesn’t want to take care of her, Rose found herself becoming Slade’s responsibility, all too aware of the pain he would inflict on her by having her in his life.

In any case, Slade uses his connections to put Rose on the Titans team, where she will be safer. Initially, her role is small, but her character grows in importance during Geoff Johns’ run.

  • Deathstroke (1991) #15 – The first appearance of Rose Wilson in a single-panel cameo. Collected in Deathstroke: The Terminator by Marv Wolfman Omnibus Vol. 1
  • Deathstroke (1991) #0 and #41-45 (The Hunted) – As the Ravager goes on a killing spree, trying to kill all of Deathstroke’s friends and family, Rose’s life is put in danger. This story leads to Rose becoming Slade’s responsibility.
  • Deathstroke (1991) #48 – This is Deathstroke and Rose’s first meeting.
  • Deathstroke Annual #4 – Features in the story “In Need of Protection.”
  • The New Titans (1996) #122-126 – Rose joins the New Titans for her own protection.
  • Deathstroke (1991) #51 – “The Shape of Fears to Come”
  • The Titans (1999) #26-39 – Once again, she has a small role in a Titans series. This time as Lian Harper’s new babysitter.

Except for the Titans issues, everything else will be collected in Deathstroke: The Terminator by Marv Wolfman Omnibus Vol. 2 [2027].

Rose Wilson’s life was once again destroyed when Ravager reappeared and murdered her new foster family in Teen Titans #1/2. She quickly became a recurring villain in Geoff Johns’ run while being under her father’s control. This is when she took on the mantle of Ravager.

Post-Infinite Crisis/One Year Later, a new era for Ravager starts here! Rose Wilson has joined the Teen Titans where she must face the trauma she endured at the hand of her father and try to find her place in the world:

Rose left the Teen Titans at the end of #60 to investigate the Dark Side Club in Terror Titans, before really setting off on her own for a time in her first solo backup adventure, known as “Fresh Hell.” She rejoins the team for the last part of the series.

Rose Wilson New 52 (2011-2016)

When DC Comics relaunched its universe for the ‘New 52’ era by rewriting and reinventing the origins of some of its characters, the results were mixed. Some were luckier than others, and Rose Wilson is not among them. Her fans generally dislike this period because her portrayal lacks the complexity of her previous identity. This is then generally viewed as a totally skippable period. During that time, she first worked as a mercenary for N.O.W.H.E.R.E., an international organization with a nefarious interest in young metahumans. 

The next time Rose appeared, she was Ravager again and reunited first with her brother Jericho, then reluctantly with her father in Tony S. Daniel’s run on Deathstroke.

Rose Wilson Rebirth by Christopher Priest (2016-2020)

During Christopher’s celebrated run on Deathstroke, Rose Wilson plays a crucial role with her troubled relationship with her father and her complex family dynamics being one of the central focus points of the story. As she is co-starring in the title, she appears in most issues and for comprehension and appreciation, we recommend reading the complete run. 

This successful era came to an end with a Death Metal tie-in Titans story, “Together”, part of the Dark Nights Death Metal: The Last Stories of the DC Universe issue.

Rose Wilson Infinite Frontier/Dawn of DC (2021-2024)

Under Joshua Williamson’s pen, Rose Wilson was a contestant in the Lazarus Tournament, where she was reunited with Damian Wayne and met Respawn for the first time. As you might expect, this led to a family reunion and conflict, and Rose once again became a target for people seeking revenge against her father.

Dark Crisis happened here, in which the Justice League are left for dead. During that time, Rose Wilson has joined the newly formed Stormwatch team as shown in a short story in the Wildstorm 30th Anniversary Special #1. She worked a few missions with the group before teaming up with Jason to track down the Joker (well, at least a Joker) and finding herself in the Suicide Squad.

Rose Wilson: All In (2025-Present)

Amanda Waller’s Coup in Absolute Power has failed. A new era was launched for the superheroes and supervillains of the DC Universe. Clearly in need of money, Rose started working for Althea Kang, a businesswoman and manager of the Nowegosoe Tower in Harley Quinn Vol. 4 #52-54, collected in Harley Quinn Vol. 2: Friends with Detriments. She said it herself, “This is the dumbest job I’ve ever had”. It’s at least a short one, as Rose is once again reunited with her father in the new Deathstroke: The Terminator series by Tony Fleecs and Carmine Di Giandomenico.
